Recent Developments in Mandamus and other Extraordinary Writs Practice
Originally Recorded: August 13, 2025
Description:
Minnesota Mandamus statutes have been on the books since the 1800s and were not updated with the adoption of the Minnesota Rules of Civil Procedure. Several recent precedential opinions of the Minnesota Court of Appeals and Minnesota Supreme Court reconciled this old code-pleading statute with the current rules. This one-hour program will explore the origins and text of Minnesota’s statutes on extraordinary writs, including mandamus, and the recent decisions bringing them into 21st Century practice.
