SCAM STOPPER: Attorney General Ellison warns Minnesotans about door-to-door pest-control scams
The warning is part of the Attorney General’s Scam Stopper series, aiming to help protect Minnesota consumers from common scams.
“Just as predictably as the warm weather, summer also brings door-to-door scammers. Some scammers are out there trying to pressure you into buying pest-control services that they won’t actually deliver or will include hidden fees or long-term contracts you didn’t know you agreed to,” Attorney General Ellison said.

The Minnesota Attorney General’s Office is traveling across the state on a Clean Slate Tour to help Minnesotans seal their records and get a fresh start for the future. Please check out the future locations of the expungement clinics this year and pre-register for the one closest to you. There is no cost for attending an expungement clinic. The only official document you need to bring is your I.D./driver’s license

In February, March, and April of 2025, Attorney General Keith Ellison will host a series of community forums across the state. At these events, the Office will listen and share more about the work we’re doing to stand up for Minnesotans in the face of extreme executive overreach, threats to our immigrant neighbors, attacks on the rights of LGBTQIA+ Minnesotans, increased economic pressure on our farmers and rural communities, and other community concerns.
